Use this test cap to block off any of our 2-inch valves with a 2-18 thread, such as the BV2000 or PR2002. This is useful when performing pressure or vacuum testing on a container with a valve installed, such as Structural Integrity and Leakage Integrity testing per MIL-STD-648. The benefit of the cap is that the testing can be done on a fully assembled container, instead of one that is partially complete. Before we designed this cap, it was necessary to either do the testing before the valve hole was cut in the container, or the valve would have to be removed and replaced with a plug of some kind. This cap makes testing much simpler and more effective, allowing the seal between the valve and the container to be checked as well.
A larger version is also available for 5-inch valves with a 5-16 thread.
