SP1015 Inlet Assembly for MIL-STD-648 Testing
This testing inlet assembly was designed based on our own experience performing pressure and vacuum testing on mil-spec shipping containers. Examples of tests where this assembly may be required are Structural Integrity and Leakage Integrity per MIL-STD-648. It is installed in the place of a humidity indicator or observation window (such as our SP1001 or SP1002) and allows the connection of a compressed air hose or vacuum pump to the container. Internal pressure or vacuum can be monitored by installing a gauge to the tee. It includes a shut-off valve to isolate the container and gauge from the air or vacuum source.
The bulkhead fitting has a ¾” straight pipe thread (1.010” OD) and requires a roughly 1.030” hole. The fitting includes a gasket and mounting nut to form a seal with the exterior wall of the container. The nut has a built-in gasket groove which should be installed facing away from the interior wall of the container.
Pressure gauge not included.
